[23:28] the world we live in today is getting more and more confusing to all who are walking through it. [23:29] Man has increased both in knowledge and is now able to cover the whole world with the touch of his fingers [23:30] The powers he has developed have become awesome to the minds of all as you look through the world today [23:31] Unlike any other time in history man is now in control of his world --or so he thinks
[23:31] look at what man has done [23:31] with a touch of his finger he can [23:32] destroy theworld7 times over with his weapons of destruction
[23:32] with his knowledge he can release a virus that can destroy the whole world population
[23:33] man can send others into space and touch planets [23:33] with transplants he can prolong life [23:34] with his machines he can keep a body operating even after the soul is gone
[23:34] Some say we have become the gods of our world [23:35] But it is not new for it has been said before [23:38] When man puts himself equal to or above God then He has over stepped his bound
[23:40] And tonight we are going to look at another time when man elevated himself to the level of God and paid [23:40] And when we are done hopefully we will see why the world today is in such a state
[23:41] We will first go to a construction site and then attend a party

Genesis 11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. Genesis 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
[23:43] It was a time when all the people of the world spoke one tongue
[23:43] and they followed the man called Nimrod [23:43] who we are told was great [23:43] they decided to make a city on the plains [23:44] and this is the rebellious foundation that babel was started from
[23:44] earlier Noah and his sons were told to populate the whole earth
[23:45] but the descendants did not heed this and stayed together and built a strong city
[23:45] They begin to show their arrogance for God [23:46] kjv genesis 11:4-5 Genesis 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. [23:46] ChosenOne 14^12KJV14^3 Genesis 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. [23:46] Here we see that men decided to build a tower to reach heaven and increase their fame as gods of this world [23:47] their pride made them want to be equal to God and not obedient to Him
[23:47] they made their idol and tower on their own not for the glory of God but for themselves
[23:47] and God came down to see this work [23:48] perhaps they thought they could stop God from judging them and by the tower they would be on a equal term with God [23:48] does this not sound like the world today [23:48] yes
[23:48] in all their technology they are trying to show they are gods
[23:49] of their own world and lives [23:49] If we can be gods then we do not have to listen to God
[23:49] and the world tries to replace God with their science
[23:50] kjv genesis 11:6-8 Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Genesis 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not
understand one another's speech.
Genesis 11:8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. [23:50] Now we see the payment for arrogance [23:51] God the Creator just showed the creation that there is none like Him
[23:51] there is no security in man and his wisdom [23:51] it is only in the Lord that we have peace and rest
[23:52] and we see this in the lives of those that come here from the world
[23:52] they are confused [23:52] they are alone
[23:53] they are scattered far and wide in a world of sin and depravity
[23:53] alone and away from God [23:54] kkjv 2 timothy 3:1-2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
Timothy 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

despisers of those that are good,

[23:54] today the world is like this [23:55] they have a form of godliness but they deny Him [23:55] just as the Babylonians did at the tower [23:56] Now with the babel builders scattered [23:56] the land of Babylon was still strong [23:56] and it revived from the punishment of God but did not learn the lesson
[23:57] the people never understood what God had tried to show them
[23:57] and so they did it again [23:57] Babylon became the center of the world [23:57] one of the 7 wonders of the world [23:57] with its hanging gardens [23:57] and its powerful armies [23:58] and it took the Israelites into captive [23:58] but then one day in the godless attitudes they were met by God again
[23:59] let us now go to the party where man in his arrogance met with God
[23:59] In Daniel we now go [23:59] to the party of the king [00:00] everyone is having a good time [00:00] drinking and dancing and doing whatever they wanted to
[00:00] they were gods of the world [00:00] the owners of the world [00:00] when they spoke the world trembled and listened [00:00] or so they thought [00:01] During the party the king ordered for the articles of the temple of God to be brought and they debased them in their merriment
[00:02] and in essence mocking God and showing all they were equal to or above Him

Daniel 5:1 Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand. Daniel 5:2 Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Daniel 5:4 They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.

[00:07] to do anything without God is wrong [00:07] to mock God is wrong [00:07] to deny God is wrong [00:07] but the world stands amazed when God shows up [00:08] they do not see why they are doing wrong [00:08] to them everything is ok [00:08] when you talk with a person of the world they do not understand living for God
[00:08] to them it is confusing [00:09] because they think that in being obedient to Him we have no fun
[00:09] but if they would look at the effects of their worldly fun would they not see
[00:09] that they have no fun for they pay dearly for their actions
[00:10] kjv daniel 5:11 There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;

[00:11] now we see a point that goes on in the world [00:11] when they have fallen into trouble they look for someone to help them
[00:12] the king used all his men of knowledge [00:12] men of magic
[00:12] and hidden rituals [00:12] but none could give him the answer [00:12] he was left in torment [00:12] with the peace
[00:12] for the world did not have the answer he needed [00:12] his trust was shaken [00:13] he was confused

[00:13] Because he was suddenly showed he was not God [00:13] he was knocked off the pedestal he had put himself upon

[00:14] kjv daniel 5:15 And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing: [00:14] nothing in the world today can show the answer to a soul in distress
[00:14] It takes a meeting with Jesus [00:14] just as it would take a meeting with Daniel for the king to have his answer

Daniel 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not [00:15] how it stings when a child of God or Jesus speaks to the sinner of the world the truth

[00:16] and that is what Daniel has done here [00:16] he has confronted the king with his trespasses and it is not well accepted

Daniel 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
[00:17] kjv Daniel 5:26-27 Daniel 5:26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
Daniel 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
[00:18] to the world today the message is the same [00:18] the world is numbered [00:18] the days of sin are soon to be over [00:18] And the Lord is sending out the message that those who do to answer His call have been weighed [00:19] this is the message we are to give to the world [00:19] kjv Daniel 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
[00:19] This was the death announcement to the king [00:20] his world was destroyed [00:20] his followers were served noticed [00:20] THE PARTY IS OVER [00:20] they lost their world [00:20] they had been judged [00:20] and the punishment was given [00:21] It is this point we have to give the world today [00:21] Jesus is waiting

[00:21] but the signs are showing [00:21] the time is short [00:21] and soon they will not be able to [00:21] come
[00:22] why is the world so confused [00:22] because in their hearts they believe they can find a way out of it
[00:22] but in the end they will find [00:22] their party is over [00:23] where did this prideful attitude come from [00:24] where did the arrogance of man come from [00:24] it is easy the prince of this world birthed it [00:24] and fed it to all mankind [00:24] look and see
[00:24] this is the spirit of Babylon and the spirit of the world
[00:25] kjv isaiah 14:12-13 Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: [00:25] I will ascend to heaven----I am equal to god says the world

[00:30] what is our world like today [00:30] and how is it for those who live in it [00:30] kjv Isaiah 2:8-9
Isaiah 2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: Isaiah 2:9 And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not. [00:31] the world worships its technology.. [00:31] but that technology is not going to help them when they face God for judgement
[00:31] in revelation we find Babylon revived [00:32] it is the symbol of both the materialistic side of man and a false religion for man to believe in [00:32] it will be his religion not God's [00:32] and it also will face the judgement and punishment of God
[00:33] kjv revelation 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. [00:33] kjv revelation 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
[00:34] kjv revelation 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

[00:35] Babylon is the representation of human achievement in a society without worship or reverence to God [00:35] Pride is synonymous with Babylon [00:36] and Babylon is synonymous with the world we are in today
