study on the gift of exhortation and you

another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you
be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
[23:26] in the world today being a worker
for Jesus is hard with the secular people hitting at you
[23:27] and in time this can wear any
Christian down [23:27] this is why this
gift is so important in the Body today
[23:27] Words of encouragement is needed
by everyone every now and then
[23:28] and we as brothers and sisters in
Christ are to do this
[23:28] but the gift of exhortation in a
person goes further
[23:29] it is where the person is open to
the Holy Spirit and says the right words to one who is in
need [23:29] a good definition of this
gift is [23:30] A special ability that God
gives to certain members
[23:30] of the Body of Christ [23:30]
to minister
[23:30] words of comfort
[23:31] consolation
[23:31] encouragement
[23:31] and counsel
[23:31] to the other members of the Body
in such a way that they feel
[23:31] helped
[23:31] and healed
[23:32] A easy way to look at this is
[23:32] a sports coach working with his
team [23:32] he encourages them to do
their best [23:33] he lifts them up during
half time so they can go out in the second half and win
the game
[23:33] this is a exhorter [23:33]
they come to a Christian when they are
feeling down
[23:34] and tell them things that will
uplift [23:34] them and make the fire
rekindle in their souls to go on and do the work God has

your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the
enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or

- And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye
are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of
the consolation.
[23:37] in these scriptures we are told to
offer consolation to others has we also will get the same
from our brother and sister when we are in need
[23:38] consolation =exhortation [23:38]
it is where I lift you up when you are
down and you lift me up when I am down
[23:39] now this gift also bring a
responsibility with it
[23:40] as always Satan is trying to take
something of God and turn it around to serve his own
purpose [23:40] the gift of exhortation is
not a license to condemn
[23:40] a person
[23:40] or beat a Christian when they are
already down [23:41] down
[23:41] the world will do a good job of
tearing down [23:41] but we has christians
must build the Christian up when they are low
[23:42] there is one in the Bible that is
a perfect example of an exhorter
[23:42] he is even called the son of
encouragement [23:42] his name is Barnabas
[23:43] and although he did not write a
scripture in our Bible
[23:43] he did encourage two men [23:43]
and one of these men ended up writing 13
epistles
[23:43] and the other wrote one of the
gospels [23:44] when everyone else
mistrusted Paul when he first told of his conversion only
Barnabas took him under his wings [23:44]
and stood up for him [23:44] all the
others were skeptic [23:45] but Barnabas
was not [23:45] and his exhortation to
Paul helped Paul to become a true worker for God
[23:46] he also saw mark and exhorted Mark
when Paul was against him
[23:46] when a exhorter works in a
congregation he may go unnoticed
[23:46] but when someone needs uplifting
they will go to him
[23:47] I am sure we all know someone who
is like that [23:47] and when we are down
we go and talk to them because they make us feel better
and uplift us [23:48] Barnabas helped
needy saints [23:48] he endorsed an
unwelcome convert [23:48] he accepted
other believers who were not in Jerusalem
[23:49] he worked with promising teachers
[23:49] he worked to develop gifted
assistant [23:49] as a exhorter he
fulfilled the needs of the Body to the max
[23:50] these last days are going to be
rough on the children of God
[23:50] the world and its leader Satan is
going to do all he can to knock the children of God down
[23:51] so as to stop the work of the Lord
in the World and the net
[23:51] and it is for this that we need
christians with the gift of
exhortation
[23:52] now let me ask you this and you
think and answer the questions for yourself
[23:52] do you go out of your way to talk
to someone who is feeling down
[23:53] do you see people and fellow
christians as brothers and sisters that you want to help
when they are going through problems
[23:54] then you are on your way to being
a Christian with the gift of exhortation coming
[23:54] God gives out the gifts as He see
fit [23:55] and the gift of exhortation
although many think is of lesser
importance then some of the others
[23:55] must realize that without the
exhorters in the Body
[23:55] flowing in the gift of exhortation
[23:56] the enemy can stop the movement of
God's people [23:57] but when the
exhorters move the enemy can not defeat them
[23:58] and instead of being like a dog
with a tucked tail in the corner we become like a saint
bernard joy full [23:58] joyfully going
out into the snow drifts of life [23:58]
and pulling the lost into the warm arms of Jesus and
bringing them into the house and family of God [23:59]
