[00:09] For My Rocks--Jesus Gave Precious Stones [00:10] There is a story once of a man who had nothing of value
[00:10] He was poor and looked down upon by all that saw him
[00:10] then one day a geologist happened to come by [00:11] and saw some rocks that this man had [00:11] To many these were worthless but the geologist had a reason for them
[00:11] so he gave the poor man gold pieces for the rocks
[00:12] as he left he told the man that there would be gold given to him daily for the rest of his life [00:12] now when the geologist got home he reached into his pockets
[00:13] and threw the rocks in his driveway [00:13] and went into his home [00:13] but daily he sent gold pieces to the poor man [00:13] Now why did he do this [00:13] it was simple
[00:14] the poor man had once been in His family [00:14] but had been kicked out by their father many years before
[00:15] but when the geologist found the lost relation he provided for him
[00:15] even though by decision the poor man had lost his inheritance
[00:15] so in essence the geologist gave something precious to the poor man for plain rocks [00:16] In every child of God's walk through this life journey there comes times
[00:17] when we all feel demoralized about the situations around us
[00:17] We slowly begin to fall into the snares of sorrow or depression from what we have seen
[00:18] We see the unsaved seemingly going through life unscathed while we seem to have to claw our way out of the pits of despair
[00:19] This is when the enemy will come along and try to plant the seeds of doubt
[00:19] and frustration in us to break our relationship with God
[00:19] and hinder us from doing His work to reach the lost
[00:20] It is at these times we should take a look back to the New Testament and see what our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has done for us.
[00:21] We must remember He came to the earth for us to help us to overcome the enemy
[00:21] as He did.
[00:21] We will not face anything He has not already faced.
[00:21] So for us to say He does not understand is wrong on our part.
[00:22] He went through all for us and has taken away our burden of rocks giving us in exchange precious stones. [00:22] kjv Matthew 11:28-29
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [00:23] Here we see Jesus telling us to bring our burdens of rocks to Him when we accept Him
[00:23] and he will give us rest [00:24] that is rest in both the physical and the emotional aspect of our lives
[00:24] Now for us to go further in this study there is one thing we have to do
[00:24] we had nothing of value to give Him in exchange for His gifts
[00:25] like the man in the story all we had were rocks [00:25] and our burdens when Jesus takes them is cast away never to be seen again by Him
[00:26] If you like you could say he throws them in the driveway never to be found under His blood [00:26] But even though we had nothing to offer Jesus still gave us His all
[00:26] He traded His precious stones for our worthless rocks
[00:27] kjv 1 peter 5:6-8 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: [00:27] we have to cast our burdens on Him [00:27] He will lift us up by His grace [00:27] and salvation
[00:28] and if we do not see this and do it the enemy Satan the lion will eat us up alive with despair and frustration [00:28] Jesus is faithful to keep His promises to us. [00:29] Now by us going back and bringing back into remembrance His gifts to the lives of those who obediently give themselves to Him
[00:30] we can cast off the seeds that the enemy may be trying to throw on us
[00:30] Now what are the precious stones He has given us [00:30] where can we find them so we can bring them back to our remembrance
[00:31] His precious stones or gifts are all in the word of God which has been penned by authors working under the influence of the Holy spirit
[00:32] 4 authors walked with Him and their accounts of that time of discipleship under Jesus they have chronicled [00:33] and they are listed in these writing if we just look for them
[00:33] like a treasure hunt we will find the precious stones He has given us
[00:34] And when we feel demoralized from life's tribulations
[00:34] it is these stones that we must bring back to memory
[00:34] to restrengthen our faith, [00:34] renew our hope
[00:35] and rebuild our confidence through Jesus [00:35] Let us now go precious stone hunting for our lives
[00:35] and if we have any rocks on us let us as we find the right precious stones
[00:36] give them to Jesus and receive the precious stones to replace them in our pockets
[00:36] Jesus took upon Himself the likeness of man [00:37] kjv Philippians 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
[00:37] So that we may be transfigured to His image and likeness
[00:37] kjv romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did
predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
[00:38] Jesus suffered hunger [00:38] kjv Matthew 4:2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. [00:39] this he did so we could be completely and eternally satisfied
[00:39] kjv John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
[00:40] He was tempted by Satan in every way --so that we could be delivered in the hour of our temptation [00:40] kjv Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. [00:41] kjv Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [00:41] Jesus suffered thirst---so we could have and drink the water of life and never thirst
[00:41] kjv john 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
[00:42] kjv john 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
[00:42] Jesus became poor so that we could become rich in Him
[00:43] kjv 2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. [00:43] In Jesus we have the wealth of all eternity [00:43] through Him we will never have want of anything [00:43] for He will provide [00:43] He knows what we are going through for He went through the same thing
[00:44] Let us find some more precious stones on our path as we go on in His Word
[00:44] and if you want to stop and pick one up do so for it is free to one and all
[00:44] that is the gift Jesus has given to us [00:45] Jesus became weary from His work---so that we could have perfect rest in Him
[00:45] kjv john 4:6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
[00:45] kjv Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [00:46] Jesus wept--so that we can have God wipe away our tears
[00:46] kjv john 11:35 Jesus wept. [00:47] this is a small precious stone but it is a personal one for all of us
[00:47] kjv revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
[00:47] this is like a small diamond in the life of a child of God
[00:48] the God of all wept a tear [00:48] and is it not comforting to know that one day [00:48] He will wipe away the tears of this life we have cried to give us contentment
[00:49] Jesus became a outcast---So that we could be welcomed
[00:49] kjv Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
[00:49] kjv Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
[00:50] Jesus became homeless in His own land--so that we may have a home in Heaven with Him
[00:50] kjv luke 4:24 And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.
[00:51] kjv john 14:2-3
John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. [00:51] Jesus became a servant to all--so that we could become the children of God
[00:52] kjv Philippians 2:7 But made Himself of no reputation; and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
[00:52] ChosenOne 14†1Kjv14†7 1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, [00:52] kjv john 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[00:53] Jesus suffered persecution so that we could have good cheer
[00:53] kjv luke 4:28-29
Luke 4:28 And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
Luke 4:29 And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
[00:53] kjv john 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
[00:54] Jesus was troubled --so we could have peace that surpasses all understanding
[00:54] kjv john 12:27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
[00:54] kjv Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
[00:55] Jesus was exceedingly sorrowful so that we could have everlasting joy
[00:55] kjv Matthew 26:38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
[00:55] kjv john 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. [00:56] Jesus was despised so that we could be exalted [00:56] kjv Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [00:56] kjv revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
[00:57] Jesus suffered loneliness so that we would never be alone
[00:57] kjv john 6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. [00:57] kjv Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
[00:58] more precious stones for our rocks [00:58] with these stones in our pouches we have no fear of the enemy
[00:58] and we know we can overcome the world through Him
[00:59] these last precious stones are invaluable for they tell us that although the world says worthless rocks [01:00] in Jesus they are precious stones we must remember
[01:00] Jesus became a curse so that we could be blessed with every spiritual blessing
[01:00] kjv Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: [01:01] kjv Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
[01:01] Jesus suffered the wrath of God-- so that we could know the love of God
[01:02] kjv Isaiah 53:3-5 Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
[01:02] kjv Isaiah 53:6-8 Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isaiah 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [01:02] kjv Isaiah 53:9-11 Isaiah 53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
Isaiah 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
[01:03] kjv 1 john 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
[01:03] another diamond for a rock pick it up because it is precious to all of us
[01:04] Jesus endured darkness --so we could be called out of darkness and into His marvelous light [01:04] kjv Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. [01:04] kjv john 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. [01:05] niv 1 peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
[01:05] Jesus was stripped of His royal robe so that we can wear the robes of righteousness
[01:06] kjv Matthew 27:31-33 Matthew 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
Matthew 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. Matthew 27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
[01:06] kjv Matthew 27:34-35 Matthew 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted
thereof, he would not drink.
Matthew 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. [01:06] kjv Philippians 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
[01:07] Jesus was separated from God so that we can never be separated from Jesus in eternity
[01:07] kjv Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [01:07] kjv 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. [01:08] Jesus was forsaken by all so that we will never be forsaken
[01:08] kjv Matthew 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
[01:09] kjv Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. [01:09] Jesus died for us all so that we may live eternally
[01:10] kjv Matthew 27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
[01:10] kjv john 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[01:10] Here is another nugget of gold the gifts of Jesus
[01:11] we may be told we are unloved by the world but Jesus loves us
[01:11] He has always loved us [01:11] and will continually love us [01:11] No matter what you feel know this [01:11] JESUS LOVES YOU CONTINUALLY AND FOREVER [01:12] Jesus endured the cross--so that we can wear a crown of righteousness and salvation
[01:12] through Him
[01:12] kjv Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. [01:13] kjv 1 peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. [01:13] and so now we come to the end of this precious stone hunting
[01:13] there are many more there to be found by one and all
[01:14] all we have to do is take the walk [01:14] but instead of looking at the ground for the precious stones of Jesus
[01:14] look to the heavens [01:14] in prayer
[01:14] and studying
[01:14] studying His Word [01:15] In His word there are precious stones for one and all
[01:15] and the thing about them is that they are free to us
[01:15] if we will just accept Him [01:15] and give our lives to Him [01:16] and like the poor man in the story at the first part of this study
[01:16] we will receive daily the precious stones from Jesus
[01:16] to overcome the world [01:16] in our lives and in helping others to find these stones
[01:17] so you see now
[01:17] For Our Rocks---Jesus Gave Precious Stones [01:17] amen
[01:17] amen
