[00:14] Bible Study; Illumination From The Psalms For the
New Century
[00:14] Psalm 121
[00:15] As we face the future there is going to be good and bad situations that will arise in our lives [00:17] And during these times the children of God are going to have to depend more and more on God [00:17] Standing on His promises in order to overcome, moving forward to do the work before us
[00:18] Now it is during this journey we are on, that our
focus must remain on Jesus
[00:19] For not only will we be helping ourselves through
these times but we will also be helping others that God sends our way [00:19] It will be by our actions through this life that they will see the loving care Jesus has for us [00:20] kjv 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. [00:20] in the valleys or on the mountain tops we will have to be examples of Jesus to the lost world around us [00:27] If this is to be so then we must be ready at all times to present our Lord by our actions to a los world of the new century
[00:27] Through us by His power He will: [00:27] 1. Pull the blinders off their eyes so they can see
[00:28] 2. Pull the plugs out of their ears so they can hear
[00:28] 3. Break the shackles off their hands and feet so they can walk in liberty doing the work of God For His glory [00:28] 4. Heal the sick and broken spirits [00:29] 5. And give them strength to go on for His glory [00:30] and this will be achieved as the world sees the children of God weathering the storms of life and going on for Him [00:30] It is by His word that we will be able to do this
[00:31] it is the holy scriptures that illuminates our dark path into the future
[00:31] His Shekinah will light our way and the way for others to follow Him
[00:32] Through the valleys of tribulations and the mountain tops of victories God will not let us stumble and fall into the muck of sin
[00:32] But these times will be trying on us all [00:32] and it will be only through Jesus we will make it
[00:33] When we become depressed we will have to rely on Jesus to lift us up
[00:34] When we are beset by trials and tribulations it is His words that will comfort us and that of our families [00:35] And so let us look at the word and find the illumination we need to do this work for God in the new century [00:35] Psalm 121 give us good light for walking the path into the new century
[00:37] So now let us look at psalm 121 to find the light
we need to light our way through the new century [00:37] kjv psalm 121:1-2 Psalms 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Psalms 121:2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. [00:38] As we walk through this life journey and as we meet others who are either staring
[00:38] starting or have been on this walk for a while [00:39] This journey of life walking with God we will be going through valleys of despair and over mountain of adversity and upon the mountain tops of victories
[00:41] Now it is at the times we are struggling through the valleys that these two verses should speak to us [00:41] It is imperative that we look up to God and not look down at our feet that are trying to wade through the situations [00:42] By looking up we will gain strength and purpose to go on for we know that the promises of God to see us through will be kept
[00:43] as we wade through the tribulations that beset us we can look up to the creator who brought us salvation and through Jesus we will have victory

[00:44] God made everything and controls everything and glory to God He will see us through the tribulations we may face in the new century as we go on for Him

[00:45] If we look down all we will see is the problems and never see the way out which is made for us by Jesus [00:45] kjv psalm 121:3-4
Psalms 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Psalms 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
[00:46] Jesus is not going to let us slip and fall [00:46] He is not going to let the enemy steal our joy [00:46] Whether it is problems at work [00:46] in the family
[00:46] or with friends
[00:47] or anything , God is not going to let us fall to the pressure of the world on us
[00:47] He will keep His promises to us [00:47] and this is what we can hang onto when we are facing the valleys of life
[00:49] If we will listen to His voice before we go forward we will not stumble off the path of God's will for us [00:50] God will keep us in His care always if we will only let Him as we walk through this life [00:54] And it is if we will show this to others by our testimonies backed up by our actions through the times of trials and victories of life that others will come to God [00:55] Is it not comforting to know that our Lord is always there for to help us move forward for His glory [00:55] In the times of family problems ---He is with us [00:55] In time of medical problems--He is with us [00:56] In time of marital problems---He is with us [00:56] In times of emotional problems --He is with us [00:56] and in time of personal situations in our lives--He is with us
[00:57] Jesus never sleeps, never leaves, and never gives up on us for He is always there to help us through these valleys and onto the mountain tops

[00:57] And this is true for us now and into the new century
[00:58] kjv john 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [00:58] Jesus is there for us no matter what [00:58] amen
[00:59] Jesus is our protector always and when we remember this we can overcome anything
[00:59] kjv psalm 121:5-6 Psalms 121:5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Psalms 121:6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
[01:00] No matter how hard Satan tries to strike us we will take comfort in this fact
[01:01] The Lord of all is our keeper from the attacks of the world with its strife, trials, and tribulations which we may face now and into the future
[01:02] Although we may feel the heat from the attacks of Satan in our lives and the lives of those around us God will not let us [01:02] get burned or blistered from the assaults [01:04] turning toward false teachings or promises of the world and Satan
[01:04] kjv psalm 121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from
all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
[01:05] Jesus will keep us from the mud of evil in the valley we journey through
[01:06] He will keep us from the darkness of the teachings of the cults that will be operating in the new century [01:06] In times of our troubles God is going to preserve us
[01:06] His hands is going to lead us [01:06] and His love is going to comfort us always [01:07] through everything we may face [01:07] amen
[01:07] If we will draw closer to Him daily in our lives we will make it through anything that may confront us [01:08] He will keep our souls in his righteousness if we will be obedient to Him
[01:09] If we do not trust in ourselves but in Him to work out our
problems we will be over comers in the new century in our lives and help those who He sends to us
[01:10] In this we can take comfort that God will preserve us in the valleys and on the mountain tops of our journey through life
[01:10] His words will illuminate our paths through the darkness of the future
[01:11] kjv psalm 121:8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. [01:11] For the future we can take solace in this fact [01:11] God is our strength now and into the future [01:12] No matter what we are going through He is there for us
[01:12] He is going to make us over comers [01:12] No matter what the Lord is going to take care of us
[01:13] Let us take heart in what this last verse says as our foundation
[01:13] for the new century [01:13] From this time forth and evermore [01:14] As we go through the new century it is by His Word that our path the dark unknown will be lit [01:15] And it is by His righteousness and glory in our lives that He will be a light onto our feet and a beacon for the lost to come to Him
[01:15] God is a shining light in the darkness of the future that we all will be facing
[01:15] But we must be:
[01:15] of good cheer
[01:16] Rejoicing in the Lord [01:16] For you are a over comer through Him [01:16] You are victorious through Him [01:16] You are protected by Him [01:16] You will win many to the Lord through Him [01:17] and you will defeat Satan through Jesus for His glory in the new century
[01:17] You will overcome any tribulation or trial that may face you
[01:18] For our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will preserve us and keep us
[01:18] So we will lift up our eyes joyfully to see our salvation and help coming forth for His glory [01:19] God is our illumination forever and forever [01:19] amen
