[23:35] Bible Study: Joshua --Servant-Soldier-Leader † The consecrated Man †
[23:36] Tonight we are going to look at the life of a man of God that everyone knows.
[23:36] He is one of the best loved bible Stories told to young and old alike.
[23:37] Everyone knows of Jericho and the walls falling down
[23:37] But to start tonight I want us to go to another spot in his life
[23:38] It was near the end of his life that Joshua made his address to the people of Israel.
[23:42] He made a statement that explains a consecrated life to a tee.
[23:42] kjv Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
[23:42] Yes the motto of the consecrated is here [23:43] As for me and my house we will serve the lord [23:43] In all the Bible there is no one personality that jumps off the pages as a truly consecrated man. [23:44] He is so that to define the meaning of it is just to mention his name.
[23:45] During his lifetime he went from being a slave, then a assistant leader, and then to a chosen leader for his people by God
[23:46] throughout his whole life he grew in the Lord and as he grew he became more consecrated in the Lord [23:47] For instance when Moses was on Mt Sinai Joshua was half up the mountain with him
[23:47] waiting for Moses [23:48] Now anything that touched this mountain of God would die but Joshua along with Moses was on it [23:48] He was the chosen leader by God then even though he did not know it for God allowed him to be on the mountain with Moses and when Moses was to be given rest then the commission was passed to him
[23:50] In his life we can see from what is written in the scriptures
[23:50] loyalty un-bounding [23:50] courage expounding [23:50] and obedience resounding [23:51] while always seeking God's wisdom before going forward
[23:51] to study his life is to learn what truly being consecrated to Lord should be
[23:52] how to act like , be like, and stay like in our own lives
[23:52] in service to God [23:52] Let us now look at this man Joshua [23:53] He was equipped by the Lord for the work that would in time be put before him.
[23:54] From this we can see what it is we must do in our walk with God to be consecrated and willing to work for Him in this world we now live in.
[23:55] As a servant of God in Joshua we find many lessons to pattern ourselves afer
[23:56] Right from the first God began working on Joshua for the first words He was telling was now Therefore Arise [23:56] Therefore Arise
[23:56] kjv Joshua 1:1-2
Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
Joshua 1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
[23:57] With the death of Moses Joshua received his divine call of the Lord to come forth and fulfill the plans God had for Him.
[23:58] For God may bury the workman but He never buries the work
[23:58] Joshua was first a inquirer of the Lord [23:59] He never departed from the tabernacle [23:59] kjv exodus 33:11 And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
[00:00] For in truth he was continually seeking God in his life for we see in exodus 33:7
[00:00] kjv exodus 33:7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
[00:01] By his desire to stay we see someone by choice showed his love and will to be consecrated for God's fellowship and a desire to know the mind and will of God for his life [00:02] When one is searching waiting for no stated time to learn the way of life.
[00:03] When the heart is truly seeking God His house and His Word have a zealous fascination in ones life. [00:03] To be consecrated we must hunger for the presence of the Lord so much that nothing else matters to us [00:04] we must give our all to Him [00:04] this is the consecrated mind of a child of God [00:04] Joshua was a changed one [00:04] kjv numbers 13:16 These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.
[00:05] likewise when one truly consecrates themselves they become changed in mind body, and spirit [00:06] Moses changed the name of this man to Joshua which means the lords salvation
[00:07] It is a example to us of someone relinquishing the old and taken on the new.
[00:07] Self confidence is changed into faith in God [00:08] The old deceiving nature is changed into a righteous one that can only come from God. [00:08] Joshua was a witness [00:09] kjv numbers 14:6-7 Numbers 14:6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: Numbers 14:7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
[00:09] kjv numbers 14:8-9 Numbers 14:8 If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Numbers 14:9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not. [00:10] A consecrated one will be ready , able and willing to speak up for God no matter what others around them may say or believe.
[00:11] Such a one does not fear the opinions of others for they know they are following the Lord's will. [00:11] Joshua likewise was not afraid of the thoughts of others
[00:12] when they went to spy the land upon their return Joshua and Caleb took a stand for God
[00:13] Instead of bowing down to the worldly majority they stiffened their backs and boldly stood upon the Word of God [00:13] saying the land was as the Lord spoke of [00:14] To all it was a witness that he was on the Lords side.
[00:14] Today we do not follow cleverly devised fables of men or their false doctrines
[00:15] For the consecrated child of God will make known the power and faithfulness of our Lord
[00:15] and the saving grace of Jesus Christ to a doubting world
[00:17] In the land today we need a fearless consecrated child of God standing on the Word of God in the face of all the unbelieving that are murmuring in the world [00:17] As the cry of the world says. back to Egypt (sin)
[00:17] the consecrated must say --BACK TO JESUS [00:18] We must remember the Lord is with us [00:18] so we should not fear but stand for Him in the face of the world
[00:18] as a consecrated worker of the Lord [00:19] Joshua never tried to get the spotlight of fame and power in the eyes of man
[00:19] He patiently waited for the Lord and obediently followed his lead
[00:20] and in time God brought him to the forefront for all to see
[00:20] as he showed all the power and faith of God working in his life
[00:20] God gave him the wisdom to lead [00:21] With God in his life people could sense that he had the power of the lord working in him [00:21] Today the world needs to see this very same thing in the lives of the children of God
[00:21] we all have to let the Lord show through us to the world for His glory
[00:22] we must keep ourselves out of the way and let Jesus show forth
[00:22] in our actions and our words [00:23] This is the anointing that falls on the consecrated which every believer should receive from God [00:23] kjv john 7:29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
[00:23] You see the spirit of Moses fell upon Joshua [00:24] as it was passed on by the hands of God [00:24] this is also like when the spirit of Elijah rested upon Elisha
[00:24] God passed it on
[00:25] God gives the authority and the anointing to His consecrated
[00:25] followers
[00:26] And like wise the spirit of the Lord should rest upon the
consecrated believer
[00:26] If one was totally obedient to God then can you imagine what they could do
[00:26] miracles abounding [00:27] revival flowing like mighty waves [00:27] Praise God!!!
[00:27] healing from just the passing of the ones shadow [00:27] The world would stand in shock [00:27] amen
[00:27] as they realize the lies that the devil has been feeding them all this time
[00:28] Can you not see
[00:28] the consecrated child of God standing with the power of Jesus working through them
[00:28] giving glory to God for His great deeds [00:28] can you see God working through us showing forth His might to the lost world
[00:29] to the point where they could not deny that God is alive
[00:29] well
[00:29] and keeps His promises to his own [00:29] amen
[00:29] Joshua was able to ask and the sun stood still [00:30] with just the sound of horns walls fell down [00:30] Joshua entered Canaan and the enemy before him trembled and ran
[00:31] for they knew the power of God was operating through him
[00:31] one consecrated man wholly sold out to God could put every thing in hell to flight
[00:31] every doubter would be on their knees asking for the salvation of Jesus
[00:32] amen
[00:32] Joshua was a example of this [00:32] and what we must realize is that today God can do it again
[00:32] if His people will just see and do as Joshua did [00:33] consecrate themselves fully totally unconditionally
[00:33] obediently
[00:33] and would follow His leading without question [00:34] Let us look at another side of Joshua [00:34] kjv joshua 1:1-2
Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Joshua 1:6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an
inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. [00:35] hey here is a key

Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. [00:36] Here we see Joshua getting his commission [00:36] Just has Jesus has given us ours [00:37] in these scripture we can see the spirit and the manner which the Lord will have in getting the work done through us [00:37] All moves must be made in faith in the Lord [00:37] kjv Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

[00:39] to anything the world can throw against us [00:40] Listen and follow closely to God's Word both courageosuly and faithfully

[00:41] kjv Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. [00:41] Jesus is with us when we witness [00:42] to others
[00:42] when we pray for others [00:42] when we tell of Jesus to others [00:42] in counseling others [00:42] in our battles with the devil [00:42] and his cohorts of demons [00:42] no matter where we are Jesus is there with us [00:43] He has already knocked down the walls of tribulations that you face just as Jericho fell for Joshua [00:43] These are the keys for our consecration [00:44] for us to be like Joshua we must follow the Lord 110%
[00:44] we have to give our all [00:44] give our all
[00:44] For us to be consecrated in the Lord with our lives totally we must remember
[00:45] we must be willing [00:45] to be
[00:45] to do
[00:45] and to suffer all for God just as Joshua did [00:46] these we must do and be used when the Lord requires it
[00:46] and only as He requires it [00:47] We have to do this without hesitation [00:47] or reserve
[00:47] in our decision to be consecrated to Him [00:47] and we have to be reliant on His divine strength [00:48] to stop mid stride in our decision is to invite destruction
[00:48] We can not serve two masters [00:49] we have to decide and then go through with it with all our mind body and soul
[00:49] kjv Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [00:49] kjv Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? [00:49] it is simple
[00:50] we will consecrate ourselves to one or the other [00:50] there is no neutral
[00:50] Yield to sin =servant to sin [00:50] Yield to God =servant to God [00:50] the decision is ours [00:51] do you want to live a consecrated life to God [00:51] to work for God with your all [00:51] to be obedient to His leading [00:52] to die to yourself and let him control your life totally
[00:52] If so then you will be like a Joshua [00:52] Servant--Soldier--Leader [00:52] A consecrated child of God [00:52] in His service
[00:53] Now I ask tonight [00:53] this is our Joshua message [00:53] imagine yourself standing on the rocks [00:53] the sun is beating down [00:53] and you hear the voice ring loud and clear as the question and the call goes out
