LIFTED HIGH**SINS DEMISE

Bible Study--Lifted High--Sins Demise [23:45] *** CRONUS-KEDAR changes topic to 'Bible Study--Lifted High--Sins Demise ' [23:45] wt dove would you open tonight with prayer [23:46] ok [23:46] Father [23:46] we bow in your presence [23:46] we come in the name of Jesus [23:46] and we thank you that we can come around your word again [23:46] lord we thank you for CRONUS [23:47] we thank you for his dedication and love to you [23:47] and we thank you that he has helped us so much with his studies [23:47] lord bless him tonight [23:47] anoint him afresh with your spirit [23:47] and lord minister to all his needs [23:47] lord help us to have open hearts to receive your word [23:48] bless and minister in this room [23:48] in Jesus name we ask it [23:48] amen [23:48] Lifted High --Sins Demise [23:49] tonight whether we are saint or sinner there is one thing that will effect the lives of both [23:50] And until the return of our Lord it is definite that we will be facing it over and over again [23:50] for to live in the world we must have adversity and many times we will feel the stinging bite [23:52] of emotional or physical ain caused by others [23:53] pain [23:53] whether it is abuse [23:53] by others [23:53] addictions ,infirmities, [23:54] friendship, work or any other thing in the world we are going to be wounded by them [23:54] Some have told many that when one comes to the Lord there is no more pain [23:54] or troubles [23:55] but this is wrong and it has caused many to fall by the way side [23:55] If we live in the world we are going to face hardships [23:55] and that is a fact [23:55] it is the way we respond to them that makes the difference [23:56] Jesus feels our pain and He is there to help us [23:56] amen [23:56] but He is not until His return going to pull us out [23:57] Jesus is not the bringer of troubles to man [23:57] man [23:57] for it is by the actions of man that he has his troubles [23:57] and these are used by Satan to ensnare [23:57] But by looking to Jesus we can get through [23:58] for He has promised us that when we are with Him in Heaven there will be no more pain or heartaches [23:58] kjv revelation 21:3-4 Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [23:58] kjv isaiah 53:4-5 Isaiah 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [23:59] kjv hebrews 4:14-15 Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Hebrews 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. [23:59] Jesus knows our pains and He is there for us [23:59] this is His promise to us [00:00] not that we will not have problems but that He will see us through and will give us eternal life [00:00] Jesus hears us when we call out to Him [00:01] when He lifts us up over our pain we show the world His glory and power in our lives [00:01] In the old testament we are give examples to look upon and learn [00:01] as they show us his desires for us [00:02] Let us now go to the Word and see from one of these examples [00:02] We will be looking at the Israelites and by doing so we will try and learn from their situations [00:03] and so now we come to the theme of tonights study [00:03] Lifted High—Sins Demise [00:03] In the old testament there are many symbols and examples that show of Jesus [00:04] and tonight we will use one that many do not think of [00:04] tonight we will see the example of Jesus in the Old Testament in the symbol of a serpent [00:04] amen [00:04] kjv numbers 21:4-5 Numbers 21:4 And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. Numbers 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. [00:05] kjv numbers 21:6-7 Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Numbers 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. [00:05] kjv numbers 21:8-9 Numbers 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. Numbers 21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. [00:06] It is this event chronicled in Numbers that is a clear and concise symbol of Jesus upon the cross [00:08] Jesus did the same upon the cross for all of us who had been bitten by the fiery serpents of sin [00:08] that is rampant in the world today [00:08] and we christians are not immune from these bites [00:09] It is the actions of sin that bring agony and death [00:09] and it is the actions of the people around us that also cause us grief and pain [00:11] Their actions had caused it to come upon them and the innocent as well as the guilty were touched by it [00:12] Likewise when we are confronted by these fiery bites we call to Jesus for help and deliverance [00:12] Now we will face these trials for we have to walk through the snake pit of the world where we will be effected by the actions of others [00:13] our mortal bodies will face the infirmities of the world [00:13] this could be from family or friends [00:13] in our lives [00:14] but we are put here to be examples for them [00:14] as they see us going through these with Jesus they see that we can overcome [00:14] our action are the examples they see and will want [00:15] How we handle these will be witness to them of the power of Jesus' [00:15] kjv 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 2 Corinthians 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. [00:16] By Him comforting and helping us we can help others who are having the same problems [00:16] It is that in the middle of a sinful world amongst the sin bitten and dying [00:17] there arose a cross --a lone cross--that call all to Jesus [00:17] and salvation [00:17] If I be lifted up I will draw all men to me [00:18] And it is this that we focus on in times of troubles and do our best through Jesus [00:18] to lead others to the cross to find healing and eternal life [00:19] Just as the uplifted serpent on the pole lifted by Moses was the only way to deliverance to the dying Israelites [00:20] so it is that the cross of Jesus is the only way for one to come to the Lord [00:20] For repentance is the crucifying of the old man [00:20] and old sinful habits [00:21] and we must crucify the flesh daily as we walk through this world [00:21] Jesus is the one and only way to Eternal Life and Salvation [00:21] works will not save you [00:22] for if the Israelites had tried to fight the serpents they would have been overwhelmed and died [00:22] Man can not save you [00:22] Men were at a loss to handle the situation [00:22] Rituals will not save you [00:23] for the fiery serpents will just keep coming [00:23] it is only by Jesus that you can be saved [00:23] and healed [00:23] amen [00:24] kjv john 3:14-15 John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: John 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [00:24] kjv john 3:16-18 John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. [00:25] it is by believing in the Lord and Saviour that we are healed and saved [00:25] Jesus said these words [00:26] for He wanted all to know that He is here for you and me [00:26] and all we have to do is believe and ask [00:26] we do not need a priest [00:26] or preacher to atone for us [00:26] for Jesus has already done it [00:27] but the people called by God to be priest and ministers [00:27] are to be servants to the people [00:27] and to let God use them for His glory [00:27] Imagine yourself now [00:27] you are standing in the middle of the camp of Israel [00:28] your children are dying [00:28] from the serpent bites [00:28] you try your best to push them away but there are too many of them [00:28] your spouse is fighting them but he also is bing overcome [00:29] your friends are screaming in pain and falling in agony and you can not help them [00:29] the screams deafen your ears [00:29] then you hear someone yelling LOOK TO THE BRAZEN SERPENT [00:30] MOSES IS HOLDING IT UP [00:30] LOOK NOW AND BE HEALED [00:30] AND SAVED FROM THE SERPENTS [00:30] now you see the people straining to look to the serpent [00:30] mothers holding up their children so they will be saved [00:31] spouses holding each other up to see the brazen serpent [00:31] friends pulling themselves and others up to look upon the deliverance [00:31] from certain death [00:32] What do you see my friend [00:32] can you see this picture [00:32] picture a father taking up his child and running to the symbol [00:33] for he knows that God is going to deliver him if he can see the pole [00:33] the fathers begging for help as they take the children forward [00:33] mothers following close behind [00:33] and when they see it [00:33] healing comes [00:34] death is thrown out [00:34] health is returned [00:34] laughing and rejoicing begin to be heard as the fiery serpent attacks begin to subside [00:34] then you are brought back to today [00:35] you and I are now here [00:35] today [00:35] listen closely [00:35] hear the sound [00:35] it is a world of lost and dying people [00:35] in one way or another they need deliverance [00:35] some are cursing and trying to fight [00:36] some are hiding the truth they are seeing [00:36] they are blinded by the bites of Satan serpents of si [00:36] sin [00:36] they are fighting infirmities [00:36] the world has nothing for them [00:36] but pain [00:36] agony [00:36] death [00:36] emotional and physical torment [00:37] now look to the Word [00:37] look with your prayers [00:37] listen as the children of God begin to yell [00:38] JESUS IS THE ANSWER [00:38] LOOK TO JESUS [00:38] LOOK TO THE CROSS [00:38] IF YOU WILL COME AND SEE [00:38] AND ACCEPT [00:38] YOUR PAIN AND SUFFERING WILL BE DELIVERED [00:38] DELIVERANCE IS THROUGH JESUS [00:39] AND HE HUNG UPON THAT POLE FOR YOU AND ME [00:39] do you have family members in the snake pit [00:39] do you have fiends in the snake pit [00:39] show them the way [00:39] let them see Jesus in our life [00:40] point them to the cross [00:40] point them to Jesus [00:40] cry out to the lord [00:40] He will hear you [00:40] and the fiery serpents will be abided [00:41] but you will still have to walk through the pit [00:41] but when we are bitten [00:41] glory to God we can come to Jesus [00:41] and He will heal us [00:41] stand on His promises [00:41] and be a overcomer [00:42] what are the conditions of salvation [00:42] as portrayed in this event we have seen [00:42] they were told : [00:42] 1. not to look at the wounds to be saved [00:42] Their tribulation would not save them, they could not save themselves. it is by the wounds of Jesus we are healed and saved. [00:42] 2. Not to look to Moses to be saved. [00:42] No man can grant absolution or healing only Jesus can [00:43] 3. Not to shake off the serpents to be saved. [00:43] Just living a good life will not save or heal. [00:43] 4. Not to keep the Law to be saved [00:43] Only the mercy and love of Jesus can save and heal [00:43] 5. Not to help one another [00:43] We can not save or heal anyone on our own, for it is only by Jesus working through us that it can be done. [00:43] 6. not to look to man made rituals to be saved [00:43] Ceremonies will not save or heal [00:44] They were told: [00:44] 1. Look on the brazen serpent to be healed [00:44] Jesus is the only way to salvation and eternal life. [00:44] It is only by looking to Jesus we can overcome and live eternally [00:44] kjv Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and ye shall be saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. [00:44] kjv numbers 21:8 And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole; and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live [00:44] In this story we do see: The extent of salvation was that it was given to all. [00:44] Likewise for us [00:44] John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [00:45] numbers21:9 And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. [00:45] The effects of salvation. [00:45] Likewise for us [00:45] John 5:24 Verily, verily I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life. [00:45] 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold, all things are become new. [00:45] In closing what is it that this event in the Word of God has showed us? [00:45] It has showed us that the only way and cure for the sins in the world today is the one and only Jesus. [00:45] And there are three things we must remember. 1. It is only by Jesus and His sacrifice on the cross that we have salvation. 2. It is only by Jesus that one has the power to overcome and help other to overcome. 3. It is not by works,, rituals, or man but only by Jesus that we have eternal life. [00:45] He was lifted up so we could be saved and healed from the serpent bites of sin. [00:45] John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME THOUGH HE MAY DIE SHALL LIVE. AND WHOSOEVER LIVES AND BELIEVES IN ME, SHALL NEVER DIE. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS? JOHN 14:6 JESUS SAID TO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME. [00:45] It is mans decision and your actions that you can have peace, rest, and eternal life. [00:45] Let us answer this question with a resounding YES we do believe. [00:45] In our times of troubles let us all remember; to look up to Jesus who was Lifted High††To become sins demise. Jesus hung upon a tree. So that we could all be free. From the bite and sting of sin And give us a new life to begin For like the brazen serpent He was hung up high To destroy sin and become its demise.
