[23:48] Tonight we are going to look into the life of a child of God and how to prepare to witness to others for His glory. [23:49] As the title says many are called by God to the work but few are chosen
[23:49] this is not because God rejects them [23:49] but because many people do not want to or are afraid to answer His call
[23:50] For some it may be a fear due to them not really understanding their position in the Lord
[23:50] and if they can not know this position then they can not witness about it to others effectively [23:51] God does not refuse but it is according to if we choose
[23:51] Let us look at what Jesus has said on this first [23:51] kjv Matthew 9:36-37
Matthew 9:36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them,
because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;
[23:52] kjv Matthew 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. [23:52] Does this not describe the day we are now living in
[23:53] there are so many out there that need the Lord but there are few who will go out and present it to them [23:54] But with preparation and a little study watered with prayer the workers can increase and go forth for His glory [23:54] kjv Luke 10:1-3
Luke 10:1 After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. [23:54] Today these words of Jesus still ring in our ears
[23:55] This is what He wants of us [23:55] it is our mission [23:56] Now for us to do this we have to know what being chosen means and we must be able to show it to the ones God sends us to witness to
[23:56] As we learn this we become more confident in Jesus
[23:57] and with confidence will come the boldness to go forth and witness
[23:57] What does being chosen mean [23:57] How can we explain t to others in a way they will understand and want to accept our Lord
[23:59] Let us look at some of the points we must realize and be able to present to others
[23:59] 1. We are chosen out of this world [23:59] kjv john 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. [00:00] Now this does not mean we are to hide from the world
[00:00] we can be in the world and not of the world [00:00] and it is by our lifestyles in living for Jesus that our lives become a witness to others [00:01] Your actions seen by others in the daily situations we face will present the way Jesus works in our lives [00:01] and this will make others want to learn of what we have
[00:02] This is our mission . to witness to the world [00:02] kjv Matthew 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. [00:03] 2. We are chosen to know God's will [00:03] kjv acs 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. [00:03] When God lets us know His will through Jesus in our lives we can have purpose
[00:04] Knowing what He wants of us gives us the guidance to go forth and tell others of Him
[00:04] through us they will meet our Lord for we have Jesus working through us
[00:05] and by this we present Him to the lost of the world
[00:05] 3. We are a chosen generation to show forth His praise
[00:05] kjv 1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
[00:07] It will be by our praises of Him that we can show how Jesus pulled us out of the dark
[00:07] to those still lost in the world [00:08] for in our praises they can receive hope in the fact that they also can have what we have [00:08] for this to happen we have to be able to present this to the world
[00:08] 4. Chosen to be a soldier [00:09] niv 2 timothy 2:3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
[00:09] It is by our overcoming the trials in the world through the power of Jesus in our lives that we show our Lord [00:10] When the lost see us overcoming the tribulations that Satan sends against us
[00:10] daily in our lives [00:10] they see Jesus working in our lives and this is a witness to them
[00:10] But for them to see we have to also believe [00:11] where we are in the Lord [00:11] and that what we have is true [00:11] when confronted by the enemy that may try and dilute the gospel of Jesus we present
[00:12] we have to be able to explain it to the lost so they will see the truth and not the false screen Satan is trying to put in front of them
[00:12] 5. Chosen means we are His precious ones [00:12] niv 1 Peter 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him-- [00:13] this means we have worth through Jesus [00:13] He loves us
[00:13] and in the world the lost have only pain [00:13] and when the enemy is through with them they are cast off as useless and worthless
[00:14] We have to be able to show them that in Jesus they are worth more then all the gold in the world [00:15] to the world what is worthless in God's eyes is a great treasure
[00:15] this we have to show to the lost by letting them see it in our lives
[00:15] we are chosen to work [00:16] niv Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
[00:16] God has already made a way for us to go out and witness
[00:16] He has prepared the place for us to plant the seeds of the gospel in the hearts o those hurting and seeking [00:17] If we love God then we will joyfully work for Him
[00:17] unafraid
[00:17] of what others think --say --or do [00:18] niv Matthew 20:16 "So the last will be first, and the first will be last."
[00:18] niv Matthew 20:17 Now as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and said to them, [00:20] we are chosen to be like Christ [00:20] kjv Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
[00:20] kjv 1 john 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. [00:23] those that the world considers wise [00:23] can not understand the child of God [00:23] this is why when witnessing many will ask How can you do it?
[00:23] believe in what you can not see [00:24] impossible
[00:24] it is fables
[00:24] stories
[00:24] there is no fact
[00:24] this is what the wise of the world say to us when we witness
[00:25] this is what they tell the ones we testify too if they begin to walk toward Jesus
[00:25] And this we have to explain to them in ways they understand
[00:25] so as to disarm this tactic of the evil one to hold his captives
[00:26] We are chosen to be living epistles to the world [00:26] kjv 2 Corinthians 3:2-3 2 Corinthians 3:2 Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
2 Corinthians 3:3 Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
[00:27] Your life in the world is a epistle of Jesus to the world
[00:27] people read us and by example they are presented Jesus through us
[00:27] we are living epistles [00:28] We are chosen to be heirs of the kingdom [00:28] kjv James 2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? [00:28] this is the theme we must present to the world [00:29] the world offers them nothing [00:29] all the world can offer is death [00:29] they can lie and give them false teachings to comfort them
[00:29] but it is by us they will receive the truth [00:30] we have to show them the lies of the world for what they are
[00:30] and to do this we must know ourselves of what we are talking of and presenting
[00:30] For them to see we have to believe [00:30] no doubt
[00:30] only faith
[00:30] that is the secret to a good witnesser [00:31] Not only must know why we are chosen and where we are
[00:31] and how to present it [00:32] Not only must we know why we are chosen and what it means to be chosen
[00:32] we have to know how to present it [00:32] Now if you were asked what is your position in Christ
[00:33] could you answer
[00:33] if a person asked what is your place in this thing you are talking about could you give a reply [00:34] Perhaps it is this that keep some from going forth
[00:34] what is our position according to God [00:34] in His family
[00:34] as His children
[00:35] We are called according to His purpose [00:35] God chose you and me [00:35] and it is our decision whether to accept or not [00:36] We are redeemed according to God's grace [00:38] through the sacrifice of Jesus we are adopted into the family of God
[00:39] and by Him we are heirs to His kingdom [00:39] and by this we have been adopted by Him [00:40] Our needs are supplied by His wealth [00:40] kjv Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. [00:40] Do not worry for our Lord can supply the [00:40] strength we need to do His work [00:40] the knowledge to do His work [00:40] the wisdom to do His work [00:41] the protection to do His work [00:41] physical--emotional--and spiritual [00:41] Jesus can provide our needs [00:41] this we must present to the lost world [00:41] but for us to do it [00:41] we must believe for others to see [00:42] We are empowered by the power of God [00:42] kjv Colossians 1:11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
[00:42] It is by His power not ours that we can do the work before us
[00:43] there should be no fear to witness to others for our Lord is with us
[00:43] and gives us the power to overcome anything [00:43] and this will show Him to the world by our actions under pressure
[00:43] We are chosen according to His plan [00:44] kjv Ephesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
[00:44] God chose you and me [00:44] He wants us to be His [00:44] He loves us
[00:44] and cares for us
[00:44] but He also wants us to be a witness to the world for Him
[00:45] and let Him work through us to bring others to Him
[00:45] We are enlightened according to His pleasure [00:45] kjv Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
[00:46] This is why we can explain to the world what they do not see in serving Jesus
[00:46] It has been revealed to us [00:46] but it is not to be hid in ourselves [00:47] we must be wiling to show it to the lost [00:47] for is this not what Jesus did for us [00:47] we are given wisdom according to His eternal purpose
[00:47] kjv Ephesians 1:10-11 Ephesians 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
[00:48] we are strengthened according to His glory [00:49] kjv Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
[00:49] By His strength we will be victorious in pulling the captives out of Satan's prisons
[00:50] we are made ministers according to His gift [00:50] kjv Ephesians 3:7 They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.
[00:50] kjv Ephesians 3:7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
[00:51] kjv Ephesians 4:11-12 Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Ephesians 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: [00:51] we are all ministers for Jesus to the world [00:51] we can all pray for people in need [00:51] we can all witness [00:52] we can all comfort and show the love of Jesus to others
[00:52] to the world all of us are His workers [00:52] Now we come to the most exciting position for the child of God
[00:52] It is what makes one shout for joy [00:53] our bodies will be changed according to His ability
[00:53] kjv Philippians 3:20-21 Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. [00:54] by our Lord that we will be changed [00:54] we will hurt no more [00:54] we will cry no more [00:54] we will not be separated no more from our loved ones
[00:54] we will be able to see our Lord [00:54] and commune with Him [00:55] for eternity

[00:55] no more infirmities [00:55] This is what we have to present to the world [00:55] It is our calling [00:55] it is our work
