[23:54] We are now entering the last week of this century and with the upcoming new years eve we will all be watching the old pass on and the new year arrive
[23:55] We will never be able to make up the last year and we have now to take stock of the new
[23:55] The old year will pass to memories in our hearts
[00:44] and the new year will come with expectations to receive
[00:44] Now in the secular sense this is good [00:44] but in the spiritual sense it is not [00:44] the major stumbling block to many people is their past life before Jesus
[00:45] many a good Christian has fallen to the stumbling block of past memories
[00:46] and it stops them from their work in God for God [00:46] Just has the old passes away never to be relived in the reckoning of years so it is for the past life before Jesus [00:47] And for us to judge others for the past is something that we must not do
[00:47] In the new year we are going to be meeting many people who will be in need
[00:47] and it will be up to us to show them Jesus [00:48] and then get them to realize their past before they come to Him is gone
[00:49] we will have to show them this and above all get them to accept it and believe it
[00:50] even a veteran warrior for God can be assaulted by these kinds of attacks from the enemy to stop him from doing God's work
[00:50] Let us go to the Word of God now and see the foundation blocks we need to give to others so we can do this work [00:51] kjv 2 Corinthians 5:14-15 2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 2 Corinthians 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

[00:52] The old man is gone when we come to Jesus [00:52] the works of the old man are buried n the blood of Jesus never to be brought back up to sight [00:53] Jesus does not look at the past life and neither should we
[00:53] If we knew someone before they came to the Lord and can not forget their past then how can we help them to forget their past
[00:54] Although our past is our testimony of the work of Jesus in our lives to others
[00:54] it is not for the enemy or others to use against us
[00:55] He died for us and gave us a new life through Him
[00:55] and just as He arose from the grave our new man arises from the old has a new creature in Christ [00:56] For His glory the new works for God and does not go back to dig up the old man

[01:04] We are His teachers to the dark world [01:04] a beacon for His love to the unloved [01:04] a light to the ones lost on the dark paths [01:05] kjv 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
[01:06] We have through Jesus been given righteousness and this is the capping stone we must give to new converts so as to entomb their past life and for them to go on to a new glorious life in the Lord
[01:07] This is a gift we have been given from God and it is that if we can remember this then Satan can not stop us from the power to defeat him and save the lost through Jesus for His glory [01:08] kjv 2 Corinthians 4:7-8 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 2 Corinthians 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
[01:08] kjv 2 Corinthians 4:9-10 2 Corinthians 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
2 Corinthians 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
[01:09] No matter what we face or what the devil takes from our past and throws at us we will overcome through Jesus in our lives

[01:10] we can show and be examples of Jesus to the world if we will just allow Him to work in us and let the old man be buried ---and the new man arise to victory through Jesus as we work for Him [01:11] there is a story a fable from the Greeks [01:11] it is about a bird that dies in flames [01:11] but is reborn into a beautiful bird [01:12] from the ashes of its fire it arises to show forth the beauty and power
[01:12] its past body is destroyed [01:13] this is the story of the phoenix [01:13] now this is a fable [01:13] a myth
[01:13] but if you look at Jesus and what He did for us [01:13] from His death He arose in beauty and power [01:14] and He has also made it so we can also arise in His beauty and power
[01:14] from the ashes of our sin which He took we arise through Him a new creation --
[01:15] sanctified and made holy through Him [01:15] our power to defeat the enemy is from Him [01:15] amen
[01:15] our strength to go on is through Him [01:15] we will through Him save the lost [01:16] so as we now watch the old year pass into our memories
[01:16] and we look to the new year with hope [01:17] let us remember we are through Jesus over comers [01:17] our past is behind us never to come back [01:18] and we will go forward as a new man in Jesus [01:18] amen
