[23:50] Throughout time
[23:50] there has been one profession that has found itself coming on to our door steps
[23:51] sometimes they bring vacuum cleaners [23:51] or encyclopedias
[23:51] or magazines
[23:51] they always come to the door with a smile [23:52] Perhaps the most famous of these are what we use to call the Avon representatives
[23:52] Avon calling
[23:52] use to be heard weekly in hundreds of homes [23:53] Well tonight we are going to talk about the one and only
[23:53] the best of the best [23:53] the one that is always trying to sell something [23:54] Satan calling
[23:54] for he is the master professional door to door salesman
[23:54] of time
[23:55] Now the reason that door to door salespeople were used by companies was that in the privacy of your own home [23:55] it was showed that many people will buy things easier
[23:55] so it was that the door to door profession was started
[23:56] and this is a true idea [23:56] well tonight it is the devil we are going to look at and see how he is always smiling and bouncing up to our door steps trying to make a sale to us
[23:57] When we come to God we change and leave the old life behind
[23:57] we basically shut the doors to our old lifestyle [23:57] but even thought we have shut the doors [23:57] they are never nailed shut [23:58] the trick is Satan can not open the door himself [23:58] he can knock
[23:58] he can ring the door bell [23:58] but unless we open the door he can not come in [23:58] this is a fact
[23:59] but he is a persistent salesperson [23:59] and like the annoying magazine door to door sales person
[23:59] he does not give up [23:59] Let us now look at how this master sales person operates
[00:00] for he will come knocking on our doors [00:00] In the book of Luke we find him making his sales call and using his sales pitch
[00:01] let us now go to the wilderness and see [00:01] kjv Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. [00:01] Satan has made his first door stop with Jesus [00:01] in the wilderness he has knocked on the door of our Lords house
[00:02] and made his first sales pitch [00:02] See sometimes the devil will knock on our door and offer us material things that draw our eyes away from God [00:03] Look at my pretties [00:03] you like these for your life [00:03] just buy it and it is yours [00:03] feed the hunger for the material things you have always wanted in your life
[00:04] quite a sales pitch [00:04] what ever the carnal side hungers for he will offer and try to say no strings attached [00:04] but look at this
[00:05] kjv Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

[00:05] Jesus just slammed the door in Satans face [00:06] when the old boy comes knocking on your door then use the word and bam

[00:06] the door is shut in his face [00:06] But here he comes again [00:06] kjv Luke 4:5-6
Luke 4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, showed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. Luke 4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
[00:07] well now he is trying to sell fame and fortune [00:07] to the Lord
[00:08] accept this and be famous [00:08] be popular
[00:08] be liked by all
[00:08] just sign the contract [00:08] with a smile Satan looks on and waits for the closing signature
[00:09] he is even putting his foot in the doorway to try and keep it open
[00:09] but look
[00:09] kjv Luke 4:7-8
Luke 4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. Luke 4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

[00:10] Satan gets to taste the door again [00:10] as the Lord shuts it in his face [00:11] Well now the devil is 0 for 2 [00:11] and the merchandise he is peddling is still not taken
[00:11] now not only as he tasted the door but his foot has been slammed too
[00:12] but here he comes up the walkway again to the Lords house
[00:12] he is what we could call a die hard door ringer [00:12] kjv Luke 4:9-10
Luke 4:9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
Luke 4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
[00:13] well now the old boy is really making a pitch [00:13] he is better then a hoover cleaner salesman [00:14] he is now saying buy this and you have immortality
[00:14] just sign the line [00:14] and receive he is basically saying [00:15] test the Lord and see if His promises are really true

Luke 4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Luke 4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

[00:16] Jesus slammed the door in his face again [00:16] See Satan tried to sell first his carnal pleasures
[00:17] which will appeal to our fleshly side the body [00:17] then he tried to sell to our minds [00:17] popularity, power and fame [00:17] and then he tried to sell to our spiritual side by wanting us to test the Lord
[00:18] the three pitch sale [00:18] he will also try this with you [00:18] for example
[00:18] for number three
[00:18] look at those who handle snakes- or drink poisons for proof of their faith in God
[00:19] now we say that is crazy but [00:19] is it any different then when we decide to do something we know is not right for the holy spirit is telling us so [00:20] He is saying no no [00:20] but we go ahead and do it [00:20] is this not testing the Lord [00:20] any way
[00:21] for number two our pride is what he strikes at next
[00:21] fear of not being liked [00:21] or not being a success [00:21] is another product he tires to sell to us [00:23] the devil is always trying to knock on our door [00:23] and he does not give up [00:23] kjv Luke 4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. [00:23] Satan left the lords door step [00:23] but he did not say he was going to quit [00:24] he left for only a season [00:24] Is the devil offering you any thing [00:24] is he knocking on the door [00:24] then wham and bam slam the door in his face [00:24] he will not stop trying [00:25] he will not stop trying [00:25] but the good news is you can shut the door in his face
[00:25] you can for Jesus has given you the power to do so
[00:25] but do not think he will not keep on coming [00:26] to coin a phrase

[00:26] he rings our bells [00:27] but he must have a flat nose [00:27] for when he knocks we slam it in his face [00:27] Satan sold David a product [00:28] he used sale trick 1 [00:28] and David instead of slamming the door in his face let him in
[00:28] David gave in to the flesh hunger [00:28] that the devil had offered [00:29] he went for bathsheba [00:29] and then added to it by murder [00:29] Moses opened his door to Satan [00:29] and with the thought of power from anger [00:30] struck the rock more then he was told to do [00:30] he bought the product of the devils [00:30] and for it he lost the chance to enter the promise land

[00:31] and for his not shutting the door he got a trip in the belly of a fish
[00:32] all through the bible we find where Satan has knocked on the doors and sold people a product that at the time they felt they needed
[00:32] but in the fine print [00:32] they all paid dearly for it [00:32] Satan knocked on the door at the last supper [00:32] and the disciples opened to it [00:33] he had ricalry to sell to these disciples [00:33] kjv mark 9:33-35

Mark 9:34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest. Mark 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

[00:35] here we see the product being offered again [00:35] would we be any different [00:35] the chance at being the first [00:35] does appeal to us all [00:35] to be liked by all is a strong desire [00:36] but we must slam the door in his face [00:36] just as Jesus did [00:36] kjv luke 22:26-27 Luke 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. Luke 22:27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
[00:36] Jesus again slams the door on the devil [00:37] wham and bam go away Satan [00:37] the devil again comes a knocking and this time peter is the buyer
[00:38] kjv Luke 22:31-34 Luke 22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. Luke 22:33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
[00:38] wow here we see the product again [00:38] pride peter is saying I will do this [00:39] niv Luke 22:34 Jesus answered, "I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me."
[00:39] Jesus is shutting the door on the devil again [00:39] he wanted Peter to see his mistake [00:40] so the devil again tries [00:40] kjv Luke 22:38-39
Luke 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.
Luke 22:39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his
disciples also followed him.
[00:41] Satan tried to use anger and pride again and the disciples were about to sign the contract but [00:41] Jesus shut the door again [00:41] wham --bam==away sa--tan [00:41] tonight we are all in this position [00:42] the devil is trying to sell a bill of goods to us
[00:42] he is knocking on the door [00:42] if you see something is not right [00:42] will you speak up and take the chance of losing a friend or being liked
[00:43] if you say yes then you are slamming the door in the face of Satan
[00:43] for to be a fiend you have to b truthful [00:43] and a true friend may get upset but they never will leave

[00:44] at work do you stand for God [00:44] in front of your fellow workers [00:44] even if you may be teased or not liked [00:44] if this has ever happened then the devil is trying to sell you a product

[00:45] Jesus has promised us He would help us [00:45] for you see the end of signing the contract is very plain
[00:46] kjv romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. [00:46] Stand up for the lord [00:46] don't sell yourself out [00:46] when Satan comes to your door [00:46] remember these things [00:47] if he offers you something that if like the world
