[00:31] please help us to not only come to understand what your gifts are, help us lord to realize which ones you have given us and how we are supposed to use the

[00:33] Tonight we are going to start a series of studies on spiritual gifts and you
[00:34] in these last days we as christians are going to be facing the evil of the world
[00:34] the line between evil and good will be drawn [00:35] and to keep from being ensnared we will have to be fully
operational in the gifts of the spirit
[00:35] the definition of a gift of the spirit is; [00:36] A spiritual gift is a special attribute given by the Holy Spirit
[00:36] to every member of the Body of Christ [00:37] according to God's grace [00:37] for use within the context of the Body [00:37] spiritual gifts are not [00:37] singular
[00:38] talents
[00:38] offices
[00:38] ministries
[00:39] or fruits of the Spirit [00:39] they are skills given to Christians for the work of God in this secular world
[00:39] age does not matter [00:40] gender does not matter [00:40] race does not matter [00:40] it if a gift freely given to all by the Holy Spirit
[00:41] in the upcoming series we will take each gift and do a study on them
[00:41] but for tonight we will lay a foundation to build each study on
[00:43] in the word of God we are told of the gifts [00:43] niv 1 Corinthians 12:1-3 [00:43] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. [00:43] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:2 You know that when you were pagans,
somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. [00:44] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is
speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. [00:44] niv 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
[00:44] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
[00:44] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
[00:44] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. [00:44] the gifts are given by God for us to work for him
[00:45] we who came out of the world are to free others and to do this
[00:45] we must have the gifts working in the body of Christ
[00:45] if we are to save the lost [00:46] the gifts of the spirit are also listed in the Word
[00:48] niv 1 Corinthians 12:7-9 [00:48] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. [00:48] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
[00:48] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, [00:48] niv 1 Corinthians 12:10-11 [00:48] ALBible 7[]4NIV7[]6 1 Corinthians 12:11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
[00:49] here we see that the different gifts are given to christians by God as He sees fit
[00:50] a person could have one gift--two gifts-- or multiple gifts
according to what the Lord wants them to do in His Body [00:51] each gift is given for a special purpose in the Body of Christ
[00:51] they are as follows: [00:52] teaching= for training the children of God [00:52] exhortation=stimulating faith and encouraging the children of God
[00:53] giving=contributing, generosity, and sharing [00:55] leadership= ability to get people working together for a common cause
[00:55] mercy=sympathy, comfort to the hurting, and kindness
[00:56] these gifts can be found in the 12th chapter of Romans
[00:56] Wisdom=wise advice-and wise speech [00:57] knowledge=studying, and speaking with knowledge, [00:57] Faith
[00:57] Healing
[00:58] miracles=to show the power of God to His people [00:58] discernment=discrimination in spiritual matters [00:59] tongues
[00:59] interpretation of tongues [00:59] apostles
[01:00] Helps
[01:00] Administrations
[01:00] these gifts can be found listed in 1st Corinthians chapter
12
[01:01] then there is
[01:01] Evangelist=for spreading the Word of God [01:01] and
[01:02] Pastors =for the caring for God's people [01:02] these are listed in Ephesians chapter 4 [01:03] All of these gifts are needed for the Body of Christ to operate in these last days
[01:03] now we can have only 1 gift or many gifts working in us
[01:03] but they are not to be used for our own glory [01:04] but for the glory of God [01:04] remember what God gives He can stop if it is not used properly
[01:05] now this may seem boring to you but it is the foundation that must be laid before we can take each gift in separate study
[01:06] in the battle in today's world the one's who go out without the gifts of the Spirit working in them are [01:07] taking a chance of being ensnared by the enemy [01:07] in the book of Acts we can find the church flowing in the spiritual gifts
[01:08] can you imagine what would happen if one was to walk down a hospital corridor and as he passed each room the person in that room was healed

[01:08] Peter did it in Acts [01:09] his shadow cured the sick as he passed them on the street
[01:09] awesome
[01:10] can you imagine what would happen in the world today if
someone was able to tell a group in a storm that they were all going to live even thought the it was humanly impossible [01:10] for them to
[01:11] Paul did in Acts
[01:11] amen
[01:11] what if one could go to a place and meet a man and save him
[01:12] there is a reason for the names of the books of the Bible
[01:12] and the Book of Acts is just that [01:13] the acts of the Body of Christ operating in the gifts of the spirits to save a lost world [01:14] what would happen if a people were healing those with aids, cancers; and every other kind of dreaded disease in the world today
[01:14] people from everywhere would be running to them [01:14] miracles are to show the world the power of God [01:15] amen
[01:15] in the Word we are told that we in these last days will do greater works then those in the acts [01:15] but for it to be we must each one pray for spiritual gifts
[01:16] and ask for them to flow through us for the glory of God
[01:16] to save a lost world [01:16] what is your gift? [01:17] how can you and me operate in the gifts to further the kingdom of God?
[01:18] hopefully by the time we finish this series we will all find our gifts and use them for God's glory [01:18] the gifts are free! [01:18] unlike the evil one there is no price to pay for them
[01:19] God freely gives them to His children like the good father he is
[01:19] earnestly seek for the gifts of the spirit [01:20] be open to the guiding of the Lord [01:21] now although the gifts are freely given there is something that we must do
[01:21] we all have to be obedient to the Lord and serve Him because we love Him
[01:21] we must follow His word [01:22] and as we journey through this world we must be a light for Jesus to a dark world
[01:23] for it is a choice we each must make and seek [01:23] if we are to have the gifts [01:23] And see the Spiritual Gifts operating in you [01:24] for a lost world
